Since I launched Frictionless Data a year ago, the number of people reading this newsletter has grown eight times larger. These CIOs, CFOs, data engineers, sales leaders, and analysts want to use data for better, faster decisions.
With this in mind, let me reintroduce Frictionless Data to you.
A reader recently described my newsletter as "how to manage data, written for leaders." I love that, because it perfectly describes my commitment to you: providing trusted advice and counterintuitive ideas, with clear, concise writing that anyone can understand.
Through a year of publishing weekly newsletters, I discovered this: you write to learn. Writing isn't a data dump of wisdom accumulated from past experiences. Instead, you start to see connections that were there all the time, waiting to surface. Your feedback, questions, and stories help push these ideas forward.

New library. I've organized the Frictionless Data content by theme. You can find these sections on my Substack website. These themes include:
New series. I'm excited to launch a new series this fall, titled Financial Master Data. I think you'll find that it’s the clearest, most fundamental explanation so far of what it takes to remove friction between business decisions and financial data. I'm also launching a series called Frictionless Perspectives, which will bring my readers into the discussion through interviews.
Book update. Thank you for helping me launch Fricitonless Data! The book reached #1 in the Amazon new release rankings during its first few weeks and ranked in the top 10 overall. Several readers asked about the connection between my book and 80’s hit songs, so I’ve created a Spotify playlist for you.
